Courtney Thorne-Smith (of Melrose Place and Ally McBeal) guest stars as a single mom desperate enough to sleep with Alan. After drinking. And hopefully she's drinking fast, since her preferred method of holding the glass is cupping the whole bowl with her hand - the best way to ensure you heat your wine and make it taste extra gross as quickly as possible.

This show is usually fairly humorous, but recent seasons have seen some recycling of jokes. At least they're only reusing their own plots and not stealing from other shows. However, it would seem the set designers of this CBS program are too lazy to pick different wines from another CBS show that airs an hour earlier. The bottle of Moët & Chandon Champagne in Charlie's fridge is the same wine regularly featured on How I Met Your Mother.
