Lots of white wine in this episode, but no good angles on any of the bottles to help me figure out what the wine is. I'm guessing from the bottle shape and the color of the wine in the glass this is most likely a Chardonnay. Beyond that, not much input on what it is.
Always the comedians, Gus coughs some insults about their host then reaches for his white wine. As Shawn explains that Gus is allergic to rich white people, Gus deftly lifts his pinky finger in the air, an all-too-common symbol of everything that is wrong with stuck-up and standoffish wine collectors. (Although if he really wanted to make his point he should hold the glass by the stem rather than the bowl - holding by the bowl warms up the wine and makes it taste bad, which is why wine glasses have stems.)
Christine Baranski plays the rich widow quite well, making Shawn and Gus open doors for her in public and at her country club. Her unnamed white wine is in hand frequently throughout the episode.
Calling shows out for their occasional mistakes means I have to call myself out too. I was wrong. In an earlier WITW dissection of the Psych episode "Extradition: British Columbia" I stated that the intro credits of the show showed Shawn drinking wine while his dad had a beer. That scene comes from this episode, "He Dead," and clearly shows that it is not Shawn drinking the wine, but Abigail. My bad!
