Mike Supple: I'm Mike Supple and you're watching Screw It on SuppleWine. We're here at Costco in [Cancun] Mexico, checking out their wine section. We'll show you around to see what they have - see if there is anything different and if they have good prices.

Coming all the way from Paso Robles, California, J. Lohr Cabernet and J. Lohr Merlot. They have other classic Californian wines: Beringer, Mondavi Private Reserve and Costco's own Kirkland Napa Valley blend, Russian River Valley Pinot Noir - decent pricing on there for Kirkland's own wine [approximately $21.00]. Some other classic California wines: Kendall Jackson, Hess, Souverain and Mondavi.

[From Chile] Cono Sur - that's a good value wine. This is the reserve stuff, so it's a little higher priced. Cono Sur is a good winery with lots of good value.

They have a lot of Spanish wine - Torre Muga Rioja, Marques de Riscal, Marques de Caceres, Postino, Roda - this is all Spanish [long table of wines]. Of course some classic expensive Spanish stuff - Condado de Haza and Tinto Pesquera, the Alejandro Fernandez wines. Outstanding, high-quality wines with adequate prices [in Cancun].

2000 Dom Perignon in Costco, Cancun is 2200 Pesos, which is about $170. Of course they also have Veuve Clicquot so if you need your Champagne that you can recognize everywhere it's a decent price here (599 pesos).

But, if what you really want is some cheap stuff, they have 4 liters of wine for 119 pesos. It's Mexican wine, a Chenin Blanc and Sauvignon Blanc blend. That's about 8 bucks. And one of the cheapest wines in Costco, the Gallo White Zinfandel - 59 pesos, or 5 bucks. Drink it to your heart's content.

They do have a fair amount of Mexican wine here. They have Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and some blends. I've never tried them and don't know anything about them. They aren't cheap, but they aren't horribly expensive either. Fairly extensive Mexican wine selection.

Then we get in to Argentina - lots of Malbec. This is actually a really exceptional wine selection. So if you're looking for wine and coming down to Mexico, don't want to bring your own on the plane or pay the prices at a hotel, come to Costco. They have a great selection from all over the world.

They have things from New Zealand (Central Otago), they've got Australia, Italy (Barolo)...
