NCAA® March Madness® and Wine

West Virginia and 2007 Bodegas Ateca Atteca Old Vines Garnacha

West Virginia breakdown - Just as West Virginia's freshman began to improve, senior Alex Ruoff's shooting seemed to drop off a cliff. Their Big East tournament win over Pitt was extremely impressive, but they'll need to combine their solid defense with consistent performances (and big threes) from Ruoff and Da'Sean Butler if they expect to keep Bob Huggins happy.

2007 Bodegas Ateca Atteca Old Vines Garnacha - While many wines use the lively freshness of young vines to make the wine show well at release it is the older, experienced vines that produce more concentrated and stable juice. The backbone of this wine is the 80-120 year old Grenache vines that produce the depth and support to make a balanced, complex wine. The balance hinges on this depth just like the games could swing around the stability of veteran Ruoff.
