Michigan and 2007 Neyers Old Lakeville Road Syrah

Michigan breakdown - Michigan's basketball team rarely gets the spotlight in Ann Arbor, but after another tough year on the gridiron and some impressive victories (UCLA on a neutral court and home wins over Duke and Purdue), the Wolverines should have their fan base's full attention. Michigan will have to hope its unusual zone defense confuses Clemson's offensive weapons and shuts down Terrence Oglesby's three point shooting - as it managed to do against Duke in December.

2007 Neyers Old Lakeville Road Syrah - More known for their Chardonnay, Neyers has put out a wine to prove that it is no one-trick pony. This is an absolutely top quality Syrah full of fruit, spice and perfectly balanced tannins. We holding our breath to see if Michigan can show they aren't just about the football.

Of course for the local fans in Ann Arbor there is a wine that may be even more fitting: the Bo Schembechler Merlot. Yes, this is about football, but it's still Michigan all the way.
