Florida State and 2006 J. Lohr Tower Road Vineyard Petite Sirah

FSU breakdown - Apart from a disappointing loss to Duke in the ACC title game, FSU finished the season strong and could be a legitimate threat in the first couple rounds of the tournament. The team is likely too reliant on one man, Toney Douglas, to make a push deep into March, but Douglas' hot hand combined with the size and strength of Uche Echefu and Solomon Alabi inside will be a formidable challenge for opponents.

2006 J. Lohr Tower Road Vineyard Petite Sirah - Petite Sirah is known for one thing: fruity power. It is an inky, intense, heavy-handed wine. The J. Lohr winery makes an impressive effort, and while staying true to the bold nature of the grape, they manage to pull in some acid and structure by blending in just a touch of several other grapes. Their key amount of blending could very well bring this Petite Sirah to the next level.
