NCAA® March Madness® and Wine

Akron and 2006 Argiano Non Confunditur Rosso Toscano

Akron breakdown - Akron has been a strong defensive team all year long, managing to hold its opponents under 60 points per game. They'll need to maintain that kind of defensive intensity and continue their hot shooting from behind the arc (the Zips averaged over 40% from three point range during the MAC tournament) to have a chance against Gonzaga.

2006 Argiano Non Confunditur Rosso Toscano - Since the Akron Zips mascot is a kangaroo the obvious choice for wine pairing is something Australian. But that would be boring. Instead we're going with a killer Italian blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Sangiovese, Merlot and Syrah. Does it have much to do with the team? No. But after the first round it's likely to be more Zag than Zip, so if you're an Akron fan you deserve something pretty damn good in your glass.
