2009 La Playa Chardonnay Un-Oaked
Tasted: 30 Jan 2010 / Cost When Tasted: $8

Type: Dry White Wine
Region: Colchagua Valley, Chile
Thoughts: Lean and crisp - the complete antithesis to the traditional butter-bomb Chardonnay so common in California. Bright and fruity aromas with a light feeling in the mouth more like a lively Sauvignon Blanc than a Chardonnay. This wine never sees any time in oak, allowing it to keep all the vibrancy and natural freshness of the Chardonnay juice. The light body makes this a perfect wine to start ringing in the spring with friends - hanging out on a porch, sitting around a BBQ or just watching the flowers start to bloom. And the screw cap convenience makes this an excellent choice for that last minute picnic or an unexpected trip to the beach.
Food Suggestions: Fresh vegetables, soft cheeses, chicken, white fish
Drink Timeline: 2010 - 2011
