Bright ruby core with a vibrant rim. Lots of violets and roses float over earth, caramel and ripe cherry aromas. Restrained and elegant on palate entry. Solid core of acidity from front to back. Strawberry with a hint of orange zest is followed by scorched earth and lingering vanilla oak. Smooth and fresh with a long, bright finish.

Medium ruby core with a lighter rim. Ripe black cherry and wild strawberry fruit aromas all surrounded by cooler notes of wet earth and spicy cola. Very round on the entry into the mouth; smooth and silky. Hints of game surround tons of ripe strawberry with a touch of charcoal and dark earth on the finish. Great balance making this an easy drinking, smooth Pinot all the way down.

Medium ruby core with a garnet rim. Big aromas leap from the glass: cola, sassafras, fresh herbs and rich black cherry are accented by spicy clove and sweet tea. The flavors mirror the aromas, throwing in some juicy red raspberry popsicles. Big in the mouth with enough fruit and power to cover the 14.7% alcohol. Long, spicy finish.

2003 Rockburn Pinot Noir

90 / B

Tasted by Mike Supple - 18 Aug 2008

Medium ruby core with a lighter garnet rim. Light cola aromas and dark, extremely ripe (almost overripe) cherry are surrounded by earth, scorched charcoal and a touch of herbs. Very full bodied and fruity on the palate. The fruit is fresher and brighter, with red cherry and raspberry dominating around a core of sweet cola. Pretty thick and jammy on the mid-palate. A hint of earth, slate and charcoal come in on the back to support the finish. A bit of heat (meaning the alcohol is out of balance) comes through.

2006 Cono Sur Vision Pinot Noir

90 / A+

Tasted by Mike Supple - 01 Jan 2007

Bright, vibrant color in the glass. Very fruit forward aromas of raspberry, red cherries, red cassis and a hint of strawberry are brought together by a touch of scorched oak. Underneath is an intriguing bold aroma of rich blood oranges. Very nice mouthfeel - medium-bodied with great acidity from the front to the back. The raspberry and strawberry aromas are matched on the palate, yet the fruit stays in balance due to the lively acidity. This has a very nice lingering mouth-watering finish, that just screams for food!

An incredibly well made wine for the price. Great drinking now, and a great value. Light enough for sitting around and drinking, but can pair with many light to medium intensity dishes; particularly burgers right off the grill.
