Medium lemon yellow core with a clear rim. Ripe yellow pear is accented by citrus aromas of lemon and mandarin orange. Tropical mango notes are surrounded by wafting creamy vanilla toast. Very ripe and bold in the mouth. Juicy mandarin orange, yellow pear and mango lead to some tangy pink grapefruit on the finish with a good dose of lingering creamy vanilla.

90 / A-

Tasted by Mike Supple - 15 Dec 2008

Bright pale yellow core with a clear rim. Very floral and tropical aromas jump out of the glass: mango, candied flowers, ripe peach and wet stone with a touch of golden delicious apple. Fresh, crisp apples on the front of the palate followed by a touch of orange and tons of mango, all supported by light flint. Medium acidity with a long, lingering finish. This is incredibly easy to drink, yet impressively balanced and complex.

I highly recommend this one for drinking before a meal, with any type of fish or cream sauce dish, or just hanging outside on a warm spring or summer day. Throw a bottle in a cooler, drag to a park and just people watch.

Tasted by Mike Supple - 01 Sep 2007

Clear and bright in the glass with a medium lemon yellow core. Good intensity on the nose with ripe yellow apple, candied citrus and a touch of blue slate minerality. The palate presents the same rich ripe sweet yellow apple and pear up front with a nice moderate acidity keeping it crisp and clean. Honeyed notes and a touch of cream, candied lemon and some tropical pineapple and mango notes keep the mid-palate nice and round, and the wine finishes with a medium length of crisp bright fruit. A well made, enjoyable wine great for drinking over the next couple of years.

Medium lemon gold color with a clear rim. Fresh tropical aromas of mango and pineapple over a darker mineral streak of wet flint and lingering yellow apple. Fresh entry to the palate with nice crisp acidity the whole way through. A solid core of minerals are surrounded by yellow apple with a lingering touch of raw honeycomb on the finish.

Finding value from Burgundy can be a challenge, but this wine fits the bill. Lots of great fruit flavors with the acid and minerality that makes Chardonnay from Burgundy so unique.

2005 Chateau de Suduiraut

94 / A-

Tasted by Mike Supple - 01 Aug 2008

Ripe pineapple and mango accented by toasty caramel and lots of spice on the nose. Rich, sweet and mouthfilling with loads of pineapple, banana and apricot. Dense and rich with enough acidity to keep it lively.

Sauternes wines are incredibly time consuming to make, thus they are generally more expensive than table wines. A well made Sauternes such as this is well worth the price.

94 - 96 / NA

Tasted by Mike Supple - 01 Apr 2006

Medium copper/gold color with visible swirls of concentrated sugar. Rich, honeyed nose with a touch of vanilla oak and botrytis over sweet tropical fruits. Fresh yet very deep, concentrated and expansive on the palate. Brilliant flavors of wild honeycomb, and hints of mango. Finishes very refreshingly due to the balance of fruit and sugar to acid.

This wine is not yet released from the winery, thus it has no price or value grade.
