Bright, vibrant ruby in the glass. Dark fresh berry aromas. Ripe fruits almost reminiscent of new world Merlot, edged by a touch of smoke and earth. Smooth and easy on the palate. Ripe and round with a good tannic backbone. Another one for early enjoyment. 100% Merlot.

Dark purple in the glass. Very complex aromas: big berries, wet earth and black olives. Sweet entry onto the palate. Full, yet very tight. Soft tannins build through to a bold finish. Dark fruit flavors linger with a touch of light minerality. One of the more impressive wines from the vintage.

Medium-dark purple core with a ruby rim. Candied cherries with herbal, earthy notes. Fairly bold acid with big earthy flavors. More depth and complexity to it than many ‘07s. Tannins are ripe and balanced with a long dark roasted fruit

Medium dark purple and ruby in the glass. Herbal aromas with charcoal, dark cherry and blackberry. Smooth and rich in the mouth, this wine is almost drinkable now. With a little more age, this should be a very nice easy drinker upon release.

Medium ruby core with a purple rim. A touch of menthol floats over dark fruit and game aromas. Soft and approachable on the front palate with dark fruit flavors. This is a second wine to both Valandraud and Virginie de Valandraud.

Bright purple core with a violet rim. Earthy cassis and black cherry aromas. Toffee on the front palate followed by dark roasted fruit and a touch of clay. Nicely balanced with impressive depth for the vintage, and smooth, ripe tannins.

Sweet cherry with hints of black truffle and earth on the nose. Very soft on the front of the palate. Dark violet floral notes surround the dark cherry. Soft ripe tannins provide a nice solid backbone.
80% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc. 1/3 New Oak, 1/3 One year, 1/3 Two years.

2007 Chateau Vieux Taillefer

Dark purple and black in the core with a purple/pink rim. Young fresh red cherries aroma with a hint of charcoal and green pepper. Smooth entry on the palate. Spicy oak surrounds the dark cassis and lingers in a long, subtle, elegant finish.
100% Merlot, 100% New Oak.
